You made us your Pupil

God’s special fairy sent to us

You were our first born

As we novices had a lot to learn

So we were made the Chosen Ones

We knew it was tough for you

                 Being a special one

But together we cried and laughed

Stumbled and steadied, all in fun

You in your little ways

Taught us a million things

how to be patient and calm

 During long nights and days

You taught us to be happy

At every little thing you did

The mundane became so special with you

Finding joy in little chores accomplished

  You taught us hope

Joy at the sliver of silver lining

The essence of laughter and love

Together with your little sibling

You hated and loved her so much

Big sis rivalry to the core

Yet couldn’t even bear her cough

Wouldn’t let her be rebuked no more

You taught us compassion

 love and benevolence selfless

Couldn’t bear to see a tear in my eye

Would rush with a glass of water and gush

We were so happy so content

But it was not to be meant

                God wanted you back

Our time with you was up

Maybe it was all for the better

You’d have been inconsolable and pained

How could you live without your father

The river of our tears’d have you maimed

So rest in peace in heaven my angel

Safe in the cocoon of your father’s arms

We have the memories and the learning

Till we are together again at Peace and calm

  2. It is a master stroke, expressed so beautifully your father's absence. It is the daughter who misses her father like no body does in this universe.
